The 2017 Honda Ridgeline Towing Capacity Reaches Up to 5,000 Pounds

The 2017 Ridgeline has drawn attention thanks to its innovative bed — which is available with its own sound system — and spacious, versatile cabin. However, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline towing and payload specs are no less impressive thanks to a sophisticated new engine and the latest drive systems.

Power and Efficiency

Each and every 2017 Honda Ridgeline comes fitted with a commanding 3.5L direct-injected i-VTEC V6 engine. When you hit the gas, you can expect up to 280 hp — a 30-hp increase over the previous Ridgeline’s engine — and up to 262 lb-ft of torque. That’s plenty of power to get you where you need to go and to handle the toughest jobs.

That new engine is complemented by a new six-speed automatic transmission. It replaces the previous Ridgeline’s five-speed transmission to ensure seamless shifting and mileage ratings of up to 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway* with 2WD, or 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway* with AWD.

Towing and Payload

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline’s titanic output results in responsive handling and the ability to tackle rough roads with ease, but its main purpose is to facilitate carrying and hauling heavy.

Here’s what you can expect in terms of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline towing and payload capabilities:
  • Towing: Up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.
  • Payload: You can pile the bed high and heavy thanks to a maximum payload of 1,584 pounds.

Capability

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline boasts a new unit-body construction; with the body and chassis made of a single molded unit, weight is reduced while structural rigidity is enhanced. As standard, your Ridgeline will come with front-wheel drive, allowing for more interior space than most rear-wheel drive trucks — but feel free the add Honda’s sophisticated AWD system if you expect to head off-road.

In addition to capably managing torque between all four wheels, the Ridgeline’s AWD system comes with an Intelligent Traction Management system featuring four modes: normal, snow, mud, and sand.

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline Towing Abilities Lead the Way

The Ridgeline might have garnered attention for its cool new features, but that doesn’t mean it sacrifices capability. For heavy towing and carrying, you couldn’t ask for much more than the 2017 Honda Ridgeline. You can drive it when you visit Little Apple Toyota Honda.

* 19 city/26 highway/22 combined mpg rating for 2WD models. 18 city/25 highway/21 combined mpg rating for AWD models. Use for comparison purposes only. Based on 2017 EPA mileage ratings. Your mileage will vary depending on how you drive and maintain your vehicle, driving conditions and other factors.

2016 Toyota RAV4 Interior Compared to 2016 Honda CR-V Interior

                            2016 Toyota RAV4 Interior                          2016 Honda CR-V Interior

With seating for up to five passengers and some of the latest in connectivity features as standard, the 2016 Honda CR-V interior certainly seems like it’s good enough for Manhattan drivers. We’ve looked extensively at this crossover in our 2016 CR-V comparison, however, and we think it has a tough time standing up to some of its top competitors.

With competition like the 2016 Toyota RAV4, it’s easy to see how the 2016 Honda CR-V interior features and cargo specs could fall short. Let’s take a closer look at what sets the cabins of these two crossovers apart.

Standard Cabin Features

Many drivers look to vehicles like the RAV4 and the CR-V as family vehicles, and that means you’ll be spending quite a bit of time in the cabin. Whether driving around the kids and their friends or running errands solo, it’s important for the interior of a modern crossover to be well-appointed, keeping you comfortable and connected behind the wheel.

When it comes to features, the RAV4 delivers:

  • Standout 2016 Honda CR-V interior features include Bluetooth for phone and audio and a 5-inch LCD display screen, but its four-speaker stereo system and lack of advanced connectivity like Siri Eyes Free on the base trim causes it to lag behind.
  • The 2016 RAV4 has Bluetooth as well, features a 6.1-inch touchscreen display with the Toyota Entune infotainment system, and plays your soundtrack through a six-speaker stereo system. Drivers can find features like Siri Eyes Free, Scout GPS Link, HD radio, and more on the Entune Audio Plus Package.

Not only does Toyota’s crossover offer more in the way of standard cabin tech features, but it also gives drivers an option for a package upgrade for improved connectivity – going for the CR-V interior upgrades forces drivers to spring for higher trim levels for more advanced connectivity options.

Cargo Space

After comfort and connectivity, versatility should be a top priority for a crossover shopper. The 2016 Honda CR-V interior features a 60/40 split-folding rear seat to easily expand the cargo area into part or all of the second row… but so does the Toyota. The RAV4 also offers more cargo space overall, both standard and with the rear seats folded down.
  • CR-V Cargo: Lift up the hatch to the CR-V and you’ll find 37.2 cubic feet of space behind the second row; if you need more room, the cargo hold expands to as much as 70.9 cubic feet.
  • RAV4 Cargo: Toyota’s crossover offers more space, with standard cargo volume of 38.4 cubic feet, expanding to 73.4 cubic feet.

It might seem like a small difference, but a cubic foot can mean the difference between having enough room for your things and all the kids’ school gear in the back. In the CR-V, you could end up with a purse or briefcase on your lap for the commute.

Feel the Comfort of RAV4 Seating

We’ve touched on a few of the key differences between the 2016 Honda CR-V interior and the 2016 Toyota RAV4, but we saved a very important point for last: seat comfort. You see, we can’t just tell you that the RAV4’s seats are comfortable enough that you’ll linger behind the wheel after driving home from work – you need to feel that.

Contact Little Apple Toyota Honda to take the RAV4 for a test drive and see for yourself how spacious, technologically advanced, and comfortable it is.

Explore the 2016 Honda CR-V Trim Levels

Drivers crave choice when it comes to new vehicles, and that’s exactly what the new 2016 Honda CR-V gives you, offering a broad and exciting range of trim levels—and prices! Basically, the Honda CR-V comes in six distinct versions (or “trims”), each with its special perks. Let’s look at these versions in some detail:

The 2016 Honda CR-V 2WD LX – $23,745*

The LX is the simplest and least expensive trim of the new Honda CR-V, but that doesn’t mean it skimps on power, technology, or exterior design. For example, the LX is outfitted with a powerful 2.4L SAE Net 16-Valve 4-Cylinder DOHC i-VTEC engine that can generate a solid 185 hp. At the same, its EcoAssist system and ECON button give it excellent fuel efficiency and you a great degree of control over how it handles. Finally, it comes equipped with a range of entertainment and safety technologies—Bluetooth HandsFreeLink and Streaming Audio capability, Pandora, a USB Audio Interface, an SMS Text Message Function, and a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera—while also boasting interior versatility, with an easy-fold down 60/40 split rear seat.

The 2016 Honda CR-V 2WD SE – $24,545*

The SE is an upgraded version of the LX: in addition to offering the features provided by the base-line LX, the SE also gives drivers 17-inch Alloy Wheels, Rear Privacy Glass, and a Security System.

The 2016 Honda CR-V 2WD EX – $25,995*

The EX trim takes the SE and runs with it, building especially on the car’s exterior design and interior layout. For example, the EX gives you fog lights, variable intermittent windshield wipers, and a gorgeous and easy-to-operate one-touch power moonroof with a tilt feature, as well as heated front seats, a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a smart entry system, and a 7-inch display audio touch-screen.

The 2016 Honda CR-V 2WD EX-L – $28,445*

The EX-L presents drivers with an even richer selection of interior amenities—leather-trimmed seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and an automatic dimming rearview mirror, for example—and a range of exterior additions (like heated side mirrors and roof rails) as well. Not only that, but it comes equipped with a Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System and SiriusXM Radio.

The 2016 Honda CR-V 2WD Touring – $32,095*

Finally, the top level Honda trim, the Touring, puts it all together…and then adds even more, focusing especially on cutting-edge tech—a HondaSensing Feature Suite and a HomeLink Remote System are included, for example—but also some awesome exterior flourishes, like a power tailgate, 18-inch alloy wheels, and Projector-Beam Halogen Headlights with Auto-On/Off.

The 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Will Offer Incredible Efficiency

Drivers can look forward to a radically enhanced Honda Accord Hybrid when it returns as the 2017 model. The 2017 Accord Hybrid is set for release across the United States this year, and will offer drivers more power, strong efficiency ratings, and a number of technological advances, so we couldn’t be more excited at the prospect of having it roll into the showroom here at Little Apple Toyota Honda.

Power and Efficiency

The 2017 Accord Hybrid allows drivers to take advantage of the next generation of Honda’s two-motor hybrid system. The 2.0L i-VTEC Atkinson Cycle engine is able to create a combined output of up to 212 hp — the highest of any midsize hybrid sedan — and truly stunning efficiency ratings.

This cutting-edge hybrid even eliminates the need for a conventional mechanical transmission by shifting seamlessly between:
  • EV Drive: Uses the electric propulsion motor and battery pack for short distances.
  • Hybrid Drive: The electric propulsion motor drives the front wheels; the gasoline engine powers a secondary motor to supplement the electrical current.
  • Engine Drive: Connects the engine and propulsion motor, driving the front wheels with both.

Premium Technology

The Accord Hybrid that is returning for 2017 will boast some of the latest features, including a Display Audio system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Drivers will also be able to enjoy peace of mind since the celebrated Honda Sensing is available to provide:
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS)
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
Better yet, the vehicle will be constructed using a next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure.

The 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Promises to Be a Vehicle Worth Waiting for

The upcoming 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid is the first update to the model since the 2015 edition. If you’d like to find out more or arrange a test-drive in the currently available 2016 Honda Accord, just contact Little Apple Toyota Honda.

What Changes Will the Honda CR-V Redesign Introduce?

2016 Honda CR-V
Manhattan drivers can likely expect a full Honda CR-V redesign in the near future. Thanks to recent photos of a CR-V prototype that surfaced, we’ve gleaned some information about this potential redesign. Keep reading to learn what we know, or head to Little Apple Toyota Honda to talk to one of our team members while test-driving the current 2016 Honda CR-V.

Bigger and More Powerful

The next Honda CR-V redesign is expected to increase in size, and it will likely include an optional third row of seating. It’s also expected to be slightly wider, so total passenger volume and cargo volume should increase as well.

With this larger size, additional power might be needed, so we may also see an updated turbocharged engine with increased output.

Upscale Design

Based on the photos of the Honda CR-V prototype, we can assume that the redesigned model will include upscale features on the exterior and the interior. It appears that the headlights will be replaced with full LED lights and the taillights will be sleeker and more modern than those of the current generation. A new chiseled grill is also expected to be featured prominently, and the overall look will likely be similar to that of the recently redesigned Honda Civic.

Luxurious Interior

While we weren’t able to see inside the Honda CR-V prototype, we expect a luxurious interior with all the amenities any Manhattan, KS driver could want. The 2016 model already comes with a multi-angle rearview camera and Bluetooth HandsFreeLink on the base model, but features like a driver’s seat with 10-way power adjustment and power lumbar support might become standard lower-level trims on the next-generation CR-V.

Explore the 2016 CR-V at Little Apple Toyota Honda

We’re proud to offer the 2016 Honda CR-V at our dealership in Manhattan, so we invite our area customers to come to the showroom to take one for a ride. We’d also be happy to discuss news and speculation about the next Honda CR-V redesign, so make sure to come see us soon!
