Here It Is: The Honda Civic Type R

2018 Honda Civic Type R Prototype Release Details

We have been waiting and wondering for over a year now when Honda would let us know what the Honda Civic Type R would look like. Well at long last, the manufacturer has pulled back the covers on this radical new Civic model at the Paris Auto Show. We haven’t been able to get our jaws off the floor since. Here are the 2018 Honda Civic Type R Prototype release details that were unveiled with the vehicle’s debut.

Dynamic, Bold Styling Characteristics

We had a pretty good idea that the 2018 Honda Civic Type R would be a radically designed vehicle, but we had no clue that the proportions would be this wild. Compared to the new 2016 Honda Civic and the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback, the Type R is more aggressive in almost every way, from the front fascia to the rear spoiler. Other unique aspects of the vehicle include LED headlights with smoke lenses, 20-inch piano black alloy wheels, a hood scoop to cool the engine, a triple rear exhaust and a carbon fiber diffuser.

More to Come for the 2018 Civic Type R Soon!

The unveiling of the 2018 Honda Civic Type R Prototype release details at the Paris Auto Show was just the first taste that we are getting of the vehicle. It will be on display for the first time in the United States later this fall at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. It is at the point that we expect Honda to release more details regarding the vehicle’s engine and other key aspects that were not released in Paris. For now, let’s all gawk at the media photos of the vehicle.
