The 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro has been designed to offer unprecedented off-road capabilities for the small and midsize pickup truck segment. This begins with its rugged chassis and four-wheel drive (4×4) system. You’ll also get Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Kevlar-reinforced tires and a TRD Pro aluminum front skid plate. Also included are TRD-specific suspension and exhaust enhancements, such as FOX 2.5 Internal Bypass shocks, TRD-tuned front springs with a one-inch lift, and a TRD-tuned rear suspension with a progressive-rate off-road leaf spring. Finally, you’ll get an electronic transfer case and an electronic automatic limited-slip differential.
Powertrain Performance
Like other versions of high-performance 2017 Toyota Tacoma models, the upcoming TRD Pro will come powered by a 3.5L V6 engine and your option of a six-speed manual transmission with a clutch start/stop feature or a six-speed automatic transmission. Look for this vehicle’s powertrain to have a total output of around 278 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque, and fuel economy numbers around 23 mpg highway and 18 mpg city.
