The 2017 Honda Ridgeline Towing Capacity Reaches Up to 5,000 Pounds

The 2017 Ridgeline has drawn attention thanks to its innovative bed — which is available with its own sound system — and spacious, versatile cabin. However, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline towing and payload specs are no less impressive thanks to a sophisticated new engine and the latest drive systems.

Power and Efficiency

Each and every 2017 Honda Ridgeline comes fitted with a commanding 3.5L direct-injected i-VTEC V6 engine. When you hit the gas, you can expect up to 280 hp — a 30-hp increase over the previous Ridgeline’s engine — and up to 262 lb-ft of torque. That’s plenty of power to get you where you need to go and to handle the toughest jobs.

That new engine is complemented by a new six-speed automatic transmission. It replaces the previous Ridgeline’s five-speed transmission to ensure seamless shifting and mileage ratings of up to 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway* with 2WD, or 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway* with AWD.

Towing and Payload

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline’s titanic output results in responsive handling and the ability to tackle rough roads with ease, but its main purpose is to facilitate carrying and hauling heavy.

Here’s what you can expect in terms of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline towing and payload capabilities:
  • Towing: Up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.
  • Payload: You can pile the bed high and heavy thanks to a maximum payload of 1,584 pounds.

Capability

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline boasts a new unit-body construction; with the body and chassis made of a single molded unit, weight is reduced while structural rigidity is enhanced. As standard, your Ridgeline will come with front-wheel drive, allowing for more interior space than most rear-wheel drive trucks — but feel free the add Honda’s sophisticated AWD system if you expect to head off-road.

In addition to capably managing torque between all four wheels, the Ridgeline’s AWD system comes with an Intelligent Traction Management system featuring four modes: normal, snow, mud, and sand.

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline Towing Abilities Lead the Way

The Ridgeline might have garnered attention for its cool new features, but that doesn’t mean it sacrifices capability. For heavy towing and carrying, you couldn’t ask for much more than the 2017 Honda Ridgeline. You can drive it when you visit Little Apple Toyota Honda.
